Product Manager

Etsy.com is an online marketplace for buying and selling all things handmade. We are seeking a full time Product Manager to join our growing team.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED:

You will work closely with the Product team and the executive team.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Think like an Etsy seller and buyer and determine how to maximize the selling and buying experience.
  • Define actionable metrics and work across teams to collect that data.
  • Analyze the data and drive business decisions.
  • Create customer research mechanisms and build an analytic framework for the research.
  • Convert customer needs and business goals into a prioritized product roadmap.
  • Write requirements documents and design wire frames.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Required:

  • 3+ years of product management experience with a demonstrated ability to drive product decisions, especially concept development and feature prioritization.
  • A strong product mind - you can take a product and construct a 3-5 year plan as well as a detailed 4-month product roadmap.
  • Software Development experience at a web company is ideal; a conceptual understanding of basic distributed systems concepts is sufficient.
  • Understanding of web/UI design principles. You should be able to give constructive input during a design meeting and make wireframes that communicate your ideas.
  • Experience with data and metrics driven decision-making.
  • Significant experience writing functional specs to communicate your ideas to design and engineering.
  • An end-to-end understanding of the e-commerce shopping experience.

Desirable:

A strong appreciation for artisanal products and a DIY ethic.
